DHI (Direct Hair Implantation) places each graft with a Choi implanter pen, which opens the channel and inserts the follicle in a single movement. Because no channels are pre-opened, the time a graft spends outside the body is shorter and bleeding is reduced, which is why DHI is our preferred choice for crown density, for filling between existing hairs and for unshaven procedures. In pure DHI no channels are pre-opened and no forceps are used at any stage of placement.
