Eyebrow transplantation restores brows lost to over-plucking, alopecia, thyroid disease, burns or scarring. It is the most detail-dependent procedure we perform: each graft is a single hair, placed at an angle of roughly 10–20 degrees to the skin so that it lies flat, and the direction changes across the brow — upward at the head, horizontal at the arch, downward at the tail. Yes. They come from the scalp and retain scalp growth behaviour, so they need regular trimming. This is expected and permanent.
They solve different problems. Microblading is pigment that fades in 12–18 months; a transplant is your own permanently growing hair. Over several years the transplant is usually the cheaper of the two because there are no touch-ups.
Usually yes, if the scar tissue has adequate blood supply. We assess this from photographs during consultation. Alopecia areata and totalis patients can also be treated when the donor area still has enough hair.
The arch is measured against your facial proportions using golden-ratio reference points, drawn on your face and agreed with you in a mirror before any graft is taken. Men usually receive a straighter, thicker line, women a higher arch.
From the nape, just above the hairline, or from behind the ear — the hairs there are the finest on the body and the closest match to brow texture. The donor site leaves no visible mark.
The procedure takes 3–5 hours under local anaesthesia with sedation, so you feel nothing during it. Crusting clears within 7–10 days and make-up can be applied again from week 3.
